Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation based in Andover, is seeking a skilled and experienced Production Wire Person to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the wiring and assembly of electronic components and PCBs, working to predetermined programmes, instructions, and drawings.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Carry out wiring on electronic assemblies to the required company and programme standards, ensuring work is completed to a high-quality level with minimal rejects.
  • Inspect and test completed assemblies as required.
  • Cut, strip, and terminate wires to connect electrical units and connectors.
  • Work independently and quickly with minimum supervision, following production drawings and verbal instructions.
  • Display proficiency in prototype wiring, crimping, and soldering.
  • Assist the production team on all build projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to identify and address any issues and suggest improvements.
  • Notify errors on procedures, drawings, bills of material, and routes to the support teams.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in wiring within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent soldering and workmanship standards, particularly in meeting the requirements of the defence sector.
  • Strong knowledge of tools and instruments of the wiring trade.
  • Ability to work with some supervision and to work under pressure.
  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Cable manufacturing and looming experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring.
  • Ability to build working relationships quickly and effectively across all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with senior staff and managers.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
