Finance Manager 12-month fixed term contract

As a Finance Manager you will be accountable for managing the production of financial statements, tax returns, implementing financial control policies, producing financial controls MI, along with meeting the requirements of Finance and Business stakeholders.

You will drive continuous improvement in quality and efficiency across your processes and systems and champion automation where feasible.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Manage processes and transactions in compliance with Risk and Financial Control policies.
  • Coordinate and deliver the entity financial statement production process and associated controls at period end, including reviewing and approving key P&L and balance sheet period end journals.
  • Manage the production of year-end and other financial statements as required.
  • Review and highlight issues with Finance-focused regulatory or statistical returns for electronic submission to the appropriate regulatory authority.
  • Produce Financial Control MI reporting and work closely with internal and external audit teams on queries and requests for information.
  • Deliver technical support to Finance and business stakeholders through standard and ad hoc analyses and investigations.
  • Execute new or changes to Company law and Finance GAAP as instructed.
  • Manage Finance change project requirements within own remit, promote Financial Control processes for continuous improvement, and deliver small-scale process change projects.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and filed in accordance with Financial Control policy.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial control and management.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, regulatory requirements, and tax returns.
  • Ability to implement financial control policies and produce financial controls MI.
  • Experience in managing financial statement production processes.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A collaborative approach and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience in leading small-scale process change projects.
