The Business Solutions team are responsible for the design, build and system test across a suite of enterprise applications to shape solutions that can support our business and add value to the services we provide.

The Business Solutions Product Owner will be responsible for driving the development and optimisation of products in the Finance, HR & Payroll, and Sales & Retention domains. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of these business areas, combined with the ability to translate market and business needs into actionable implementable goals.

The Business Solutions Product Owner will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product alignment with company objectives, customer needs, and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy and Roadmap:
  • Work with key business stakeholders to develop and maintain a product vision and roadmap for Finance, HR & Payroll, and Sales & Retention products.
  • Prioritise and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and communicate the product strategy and goals.

2. Stakeholder Management:

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and provide continuous feedback throughout.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for product-related inquiries and updates.
  • Manage expectations and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

3. Product Development:

  • Lead the product development lifecycle from ideation to implementation.
  • Work closely with the delivery and development teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Specify requirements, prioritise delivery and define acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure products meet compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the Primary point of contact for the development team, ensuring they understand the product goals and requirements.

4. Market and Customer Insights:

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Gather and analyse customer feedback to continuously improve product offerings.
  • Monitor product performance and usage metrics to inform decision-making.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with marketing to develop go-to-market strategies and product positioning.
  • Work with business teams to support product training and customer acquisition/retention efforts.
  • Partner with business teams to ensure products support operational efficiencies and compliance.

6. Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement best practices in product management and agile methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the product team.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Person Specification:
We're looking for an experienced Product Owner able to effectively manage product backlog and demand, prioritise work and communicate effectively with both stakeholders and the development/delivery teams. You'll be involved in ongoing process improvements, so the ability to adapt to change is important. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with Finance, HR/Payroll and Sales & Retention products and their user base.
  • Prior experience in a product ownership role
  • Experience with end-to-end product lifecycle management
  • A customer-centric mindset with a strong focus on delivering value to customers.
  • Empathy for end-users and a commitment to improving their experience.
  • Strong problem-solving ability to address issues that arise.
  • An understanding of the technical aspects of product development
  • Ability to communicate effectively with developers and understand technical constraints/opportunities.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and guide the development and delivery teams.
  • Agile or Project Management related certifications are beneficial.
