Why Harmeny Education Trust?

Harmeny Education Trust offer residential care and education to children aged 5-18 years old, as well as day education for young people in primarily and secondary years.

They are looking for an IT Support Apprentice to join their team, working under the direction of the ICT Manager providing support and assistance to the Infrastructure Engineer, staff, children and guests. The apprentice will work towards an IT Support SCQF Level 8 Qualification and will be based in their Edinburgh Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first line hardware and software support; desktop, laptop, mobile devices, gaming consoles and other devices (including; printers, digital streaming, interactive displays, projectors and door access controllers)
  • Hardware and software deployment, maintenance, application patching, upgrading, troubleshooting, repair and liaise with vendor support
  • Help train staff to use equipment, devices and applications to improve their knowledge and understanding
  • Support the use of technology throughout Harmeny, ensuring equipment and rooms are maintained to a safe standard
  • Support and promote good cyber security practices and eSafety throughout Harmeny
  • Assist with the delivery of ICT infrastructure projects and participate in the delivery of the ICT Strategy
  • Check server backups, report any issues and perform routine testing

What do they need from you?

  • An interest in IT
  • Experience with MS Office desktop and online apps

Salary:

£21,840 per annum

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 4:30pm (flexitime available)
