Based in Hertford, Hertfordshire our award-winning client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team on temporary 4-6 weeks basis, working from the offices 5 days per week.
This job would suit an Accounts Assistant working towards/fully qualified with their AAT, with experience working in a SME financial accounting environment to provide support raising customer invoices and reconciling the sales ledger.

The successful individual will have good Excel skills, including v-lookups and pivot tables. Experience of Sage 50 and/or other accounting software packages is essential for this role. Construction Industry experience would be preferred but not essential
Job responsibilities:
- Receive all supplier invoices, credit notes, and personal expenses and entering into the system.
- Carry out supplier statement reconciliations, ensuring supplier accounts are up to date.
- Create payment proposal, and pass information for approval by Finance Manager.
- Allocate payments via the bank, to the relevant supplier accounts, and send remittance advice.
- Regularly review aged creditors, clearing/processing any debit balances in a timely manner.
- Manage queries with suppliers to ensure accounts are up to date, accurate and complete.
- Production of monthly purchase ledger reports and KPI's.
- Validation of invoices against purchase order, resolving discrepancies internally or with supplier.
- Set up new customers and obtaining credit checks.
- Whenever required raise manual customer invoices.
- Allocating cash receipts.
- Issue of customer statements.
