Accelerate Teaching is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and forward-thinking Secondary School in Wakefield. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the classroom, working closely with teachers to provide tailored support to students across various subjects. You will be part of a committed team that strives to create an inclusive and nurturing environment where every student feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and resources to ensure a smooth and effective delivery of the curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
  • Support students with special educational needs, adapting your approach to meet their individual requirements.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to assessments and reports.
  • Help to manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, offering additional support and enrichment opportunities to students.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting.
  • A passion for education and a genuine desire to support students in their academic and personal development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Flexibility, patience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A relevant qualification in education or a related field is desirable but not essential.
