Night Porter Receptionist

12 hours per weeks, with the option to cover extra shifts during staff absence. £12.37 per hour (An additional night enhancement will be paid for the hours worked between 11pm and 7am)

The post is based at Hartfields, an extra care retirement village in Hartlepool which comprises of 242 properties. It is a community of around 300 people aged 60 plus who live in their own apartment or cottage.

It has an extensive range of on-site communal facilities - many of which are open to the public - including restaurant, coffee shop, licensed bar, gym with spa pool and grocery store.

Hartfields is aimed at enabling older people to remain independent and live full and active lives.

About the role

As Night Porter Receptionist, you'll be providing an on-site reception service to residents and visitors, which will include operating the door entry system, checking the security of the site, answering telephone calls and enquiries, checking CCTV camera's, and responding to resident's concerns directly and/or through contacting other organisations including emergency services when required.

You will be responsible for the well-being and security of residents and visitors after the closure of the reception service at 6 pm.

You'll be provided with full training and development in this role.

The Night Porter will cover between the hours of 6 pm -12 midnight, Monday to Friday and 5:30 pm -11:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

About you

We'd like you to have experience of providing good customer service, along with a friendly and approachable personality and confidence in communicating with a range of different people.

Due to the nature of the role, you'll be required to be comfortable lone working. You'll need, at times, to use your own initiative whilst having a basic understanding of health & safety at work.

It's not essential but would be beneficial if you have experience of working in a security setting, along with understanding of operating CCTV.
