Senior Project Engineer
Salary: €70,000 - €80,000 (DOE)

Syntech Recruitment is working with our client, one of Ireland's esteemed Mechanical Services companies, as they continue to expand. A crucial part of this growth involves recruiting a talented Senior Project Engineer with a strong HVAC background. This role is vital for maintaining high standards in project delivery while ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards across all operations. Candidates must drive due to the remote location of some project sites.
Main Responsibilities:
- Project Handover: Attend handover meetings to receive comprehensive project packages and develop necessary QEHS (Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety) documentation.
- Design Review & Value Engineering: Conduct design reviews and value engineering exercises based on project documentation, recording findings to optimise project outcomes.
- Programme Development: Assist in creating a realistic and achievable Programme of Works.
- Procurement Collaboration: Work closely with the Procurement Manager to review and approve Plant Packages prior to ordering, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
- Coordination of Mechanical Services: Collaborate with the Site Manager/Project Manager to coordinate mechanical services and builders' work drawings for seamless site integration.
- Quality Assurance Management: Oversee the delivery of Quality Assured documents, ensuring compliance with required standards.
- Document Control: Manage and control project documents, including Drawings, RFIs, Technical Submittal Logs, Schedules, and QA Packs.
- Project Variations: Assist site management with project variations, ensuring documentation and implementation are effective.
- O&M Development: Support the development and delivery of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, ensuring comprehensiveness and alignment with project requirements.
- Commissioning Support: Assist in producing and revising the commissioning programme, organising Specialist Subcontractor and Supplier attendance, managing commissioning activities, and ensuring certifications are uploaded to relevant file-sharing platforms and O&M systems.
- Adherence to Standards: Follow internal templates and procedures for all works, ensuring compliance with ISO standards 9001, 14001, and 45001.
Desired Criteria:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in Mechanical Engineering and Design, with a strong HVAC background.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD and BIM, with strong IT and communication skills.
- Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Project Experience: Familiarity with project controls and the full project lifecycle.
- Personal Qualities: Motivated, highly dependable, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Additional Experience: Experience in energy systems and energy-saving analysis is advantageous, along with client-facing experience.
