NDORS Driver Training Officer

NDORS trainers specialise in delivering training courses on behalf of police forces across the UK. It is well established team and is subject to ongoing development as an integral part of the delivery to promote road safety, reducing accidents on Hertfordshire roads.

National Driver Offenders Retraining Scheme (NDORS) courses are governed by UKROED and delivered by Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) on behalf of Hertfordshire Police. HCC are one of many Course Providers across the UK and delivers several education and training activities that must adhere to national models.

HCC are looking to recruit Trainers to join our team in Hertfordshire and are looking for both practical and theory trainers.

Trainers will be delivering the following courses in both virtual and physical classrooms across Hertfordshire.

  • National Speed Awareness Course - Theory
  • National Motorway Awareness Course - Theory
  • Safe and Considerate Driving Course - Theory and Practical Trainers
  • What's Driving Us? - Theory
  • National Rider Risk Awareness Course (NRRAC) - Theory

These roles contribute to our broader aims for encouraging responsible driver/rider behaviour as a mechanism to reduce road crash casualties. An evolving role with new work streams in the future team plan.

  • Development and delivery of Road Safety initiatives and training courses.
  • Deliver driver assessments and assess assessors.
  • Review and update current practices and procedures.

Essential criteria:

  • You must have excellent teaching or coaching skills and be able to deliver courses both physically in venues across Hertfordshire as well as online via a digital platform (currently Zoom).
  • Hold a training or teaching qualification.
  • You will be an existing NDORS licenced Trainer.
  • Training will be provided by NDORS Licenced Instructors and regular monitoring provided by our own HCC internal monitors.
  • Trainers will be required to deliver courses across 6 days from 08:00 - 21:00.
  • There are also opportunities for NDORS instructor training as well as internal monitoring training.
  • SCD practical trainer - DVSA registered ADI at a minimum of grade B.
  • Hold a behaviour change qualification.

Desirable:

  • Fleet licence
  • Approved Driving Instructor licence (ADI).
  • RoSPA Silver or Gold award.
  • Assessors qualification.
