About the Federation of Schools: We are excited to partner with a dynamic federation of schools in Southwark, London. The federation is committed to inclusive education, ensuring all students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially.

The Role: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team on a part-time basis, working 3 days a week. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the provision for pupils with SEND across the federation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the SEND provision across the federation of schools.
  • Identify and assess the needs of pupils with SEND, creating and implementing effective support plans.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the needs of SEND pupils are met.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of pupils with SEND, adjusting interventions as necessary.
  • Provide training and support to staff on SEND strategies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant SENCO qualification (National Award for SEN Coordination or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a SENCO role or similar, with a strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to inspire and support staff and pupils.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
