SEND Teacher - Maternity Cover – Complex Needs – Secondary

SEND Teacher with complex needs experience required for a year 9 class. This class is a lovely class with some fantastic personalities, you will be supported by two experienced Teaching Assistants who know the students, ad have been recognised for the brilliant support they provide.

This role requires a teacher who has worked with PECs, Makaton and has engagement curriculum experience. The school itself is a vibrant and nurturing environment that supports students with complex needs aged 11 – 18. Leadership at this school are amazing! The Headteacher leads by example and the Deputy and Assistant Headteachers are supportive. This role requires a QTS Teacher who has previously had SEND experience. Job Role:

  • Teaching a small class of Year 9 students with complex learning needs.
  • Utilising Teaching Assistants to provide children with outstanding support.
  • Ensuring that your class is a welcoming and nurturing environment for students.
  • Planning lessons that are engaging and tailored to the ability levels in the class.
  • Taking part in whole school activities and inspiring a love for learning.
  • Working with a range of complex learning needs, utilising Makaton and PECs.
