The Team

The People Experience Advisors form part of the broader People Experience team within the People & Culture Department. The People Experience Senior Advisor reports directly to the People Experience Lead and will work closely alongside the People & Culture Business Partner team, to understand priorities, demand, and opportunities to improve service delivery.

The People Experience Senior Advisor (12 Month FTC is responsible for providing day-to-day support & direction to Advisor Team, oversees Advisor team capacity and helps coordinate work demand and allocation. In addition, the Senior Adviser will provide direct advisory support and guidance to a designated Business Partner and client group.

Responsibilities

This role is hybrid and based at our Newcastle office include but are not limited to:

  • Team and ensures the service offering is delivered to a consistently high standard.
  • Responsible for workforce and workload planning across the Advisory team to manage capacity and ensure appropriate case management cover across the team and broader P&C Business Partners.
  • Will support, train, and coach developing members of the People Advisory Team.
  • Required to collaborate with wider People Experience Team to ensure alignment and joined up delivery of service.
  • Monitors Advisory team performance, metrics and qualitative insights, to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Facilitate in the delivery of internal training programs / presentations within P&C and to the wider business.
  • Have a continuous improvement mind-set and put forward ideas for new and better ways of working and supporting our clients.
  • Will be able to lead and manage more complex ER cases and appeals

In addition, the People Experience Senior Advisor will work closely alongside their allocated People and Culture Business Partner and be responsible for providing a full advisory service to a designated client group. To include:

  • Supporting the employee lifecycle activity (including starters, leavers, secondments, parental leave, absence management, wellbeing, occupational health, and probations)
  • Supporting with all People & Culture cyclical activities and lead where appropriate (for example on, engagement survey roll out, talent and salary review moderation and budget processes)
  • Ability to work at self-managed operational level requiring less need to escalate to the P&C Business Partner.
  • Providing pro-active advisor expertise and operational advice and guidance to client groups, being empowered to use their judgement and business knowledge to pre-empt people issues and proactively seek solutions to ensure successful outcomes.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven Experience in handling and managing more complex Employee Relations cases (including appeals)
  • Supervisory, coaching, training experience
  • Previously been in a HR Advisor/Senior Advisor ro
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, persuade, challenge, and influence effectively and become a trusted advisor.
  • Ideally experienced in a Professional Services environment, but not essential.
  • Ideally CIPD professional qualification, but not essential
