Job Title: Payroll Assistant
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum
Location: Hitchin
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday 09.00 - 17.30, 1 hour lunch

COMPANY PROFILE

Our growing client are looking to hire a new member for their back-office support team due to expansion. This opportunity would suit a candidate who enjoys working within a small, friendly team and who also enjoys supporting an array of clients with various payroll duties and queries.

If you have worked in payroll previously and have used SAGE LINE 50 or XERO but are now looking for a more varied role this opportunity would suit you perfectly!

Training will be provided however SAGE or XERO experience/ knowledge is essential.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Accountancy practice or Recruitment industry experience is essential
Knowledge of processing timesheets using Sage line 50
You will be able to work well under pressure
Ability to prioritise own workload
Experience managing a high volume of timesheets weekly (Approximately 1000 per week)
You will be a clear communicator who enjoys providing a high level of client service
Friendly and confident personality
Payroll experience is essential
Proficient with Microsoft Office packages

RESPONSIBILITIES

Processing payroll on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis
Managing all aspects of various UK pension schemes
Efficiently handling new starters and leavers
Analysing with clients and candidates to retrieve and process timesheets in a timely manner
Uploading and processing bank files across different banking platforms
Processing tax code changes and managing statutory pay and deductions
Chasing, reviewing, collating, and processing timesheets
Identifying any missing workers on each payroll and following up with clients for hours
Addressing all queries related to wages, deductions, timesheets, and tax codes
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
