Accounts Payable Specialist

Robert Walters are recruiting for an an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a dynamic team based in Liverpool. This role is a fantastic opportunity where you will be responsible for the accurate processing of invoices and prompt payment of suppliers, ensuring all departmental and company standards are adhered to. This is a hybrid role.

What you'll do:

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy. Your primary responsibility will be the processing of invoices and ensuring prompt payment of suppliers. You will manage your own workload, escalating issues when necessary, and handle both internal and external customer queries professionally. Your expertise in SAP will be invaluable as you input invoices, reconcile supplier accounts, and resolve any discrepancies. This role offers a unique blend of responsibilities that will allow you to utilise your skills fully while contributing significantly to our team's success.

  • Accurate input of invoices onto SAP, taking ownership for quantity and price queries
  • Manage own workload and responsible for issue escalation to senior team members
  • Process all purchases (supplier invoices) and refunds (credit notes), analysing purchases by expense type (coding invoices)
  • Obtain invoice authorisation and account for the correct treatment of VAT on all invoices
  • Maintain supplier master accounts by liaising with Master Data
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve differences
  • Deal with supplier account queries via telephone and email, resolving queries promptly
  • Resolve significant issues (e.g., final demand letters) promptly

What you bring:

  • Significant experience within a large Accounts Payable Department
  • Comprehensive knowledge of using an ERP System, particularly SAP
  • Experience with invoice capture and validation tools
  • Knowledge about OCR, Scanning, Storing and workflow technology
  • Excel skills at least to intermediate level
  • Understanding of Purchase to Pay process using Purchase Orders
