Stock Controller

Job Overview:

This position has become available due to the retirement of the current stock controller, presenting a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and privately owned business. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing stock levels, processing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining quality control, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the stock management system. This role requires an organised, proactive individual with strong IT skills and a collaborative approach to work.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in stock control/stock management.
  • Strong experience in purchase ordering, delivery coordination, and associated paperwork.
  • Proficient in quality control, order picking, and packing.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in stock management systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and flexible approach to work.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable but Not Essential:

  • FLT (Forklift Truck) counterbalance experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock Control/Management: Oversee and manage stock levels to ensure the availability of materials and products, while minimizing excess stock and wastage.
  • Purchase Ordering: Process purchase orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of stock.
  • Deliveries & Paperwork: Coordinate deliveries, ensuring that all associated paperwork is accurately completed and filed.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality control, ensuring that all products meet company specifications before being dispatched.
  • Order Picking & Packing: Accurately pick and pack orders for dispatch to customers, ensuring that orders are correct and well-presented.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized stockroom, ensuring that stock is stored correctly and safely.
  • IT Skills: Utilise stock management software and other IT tools to track stock levels, process orders, and generate reports.
  • Communication: Work closely with other team members, suppliers, and customers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
