Joining a small team of experts, you will be given true autonomy and the opportunity to guide the business forward through business development and strategic leadership, whilst supporting and developing the existing team on specialist contentious projects.
This is a truly unique opportunity where you will be given equity shares in the business and work closely with the Managing Director to ultimately take the reins. You will provide strategic guidance, develop client relationships, and actively contribute to the development and implementation of innovative strategies to resolve disputes and claims effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing strategic direction and leadership to the contentious quantity surveying brand, aligning it with the overall company goals and objectives.
- Driving business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities, fostering client relationships, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Oversee and manage the delivery of contentious quantity surveying services, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies and solutions to effectively handle disputes, claims, and litigation, ensuring favourable outcomes for clients.
The Candidate
We're searching for a strategic and ambitious leader with a passion for driving an innovative and forward-thinking brand. You will be able to demonstrate previous success in managing and leading a team of quantity surveyors and possess expert knowledge of relevant legal frameworks and procedures related to disputes, claims, and litigation in the construction industry. You will be confident in your ability to win new business and build strong relationships.
Key Skills:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying; a master's in construction law or similar would be preferable.
- Strong experience and exposure to a variety of construction claims and contentious support.
- Professional qualifications and chartership - MRICS, RICS, CIArb, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of contentious quantity surveying practices, methodologies, and industry standards.
- Excellent business development and client management skills; the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including lawyers, arbitrators, and clients.
- Exceptional business acumen with a strategic mindset and a proven ability to drive business growth.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving common goals in a contentious environment.
