FiND is a local charity in East Riding of Yorkshire and Hull, providing support for individuals with autism and severe learning disabilities. They are now looking to recruit 5 Keyworkers.

Role Overview:

As a Keyworker, you will play a crucial role in meeting the care and support needs of individuals across various settings, including their homes, the community, and at FiND services. You will help individuals manage their personal care, medication, and health needs, as well as assist them in daily activities and experiences. All care provided must align with FiND's core values and be delivered in a way that respects each person's dignity, encourages independence, and offers choice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the highest standard of person-centred care to individuals with severe learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • Assist individuals in achieving meaningful outcomes based on their personalised support plans (MyPlans).
  • Work collaboratively with team members to implement individual care plans while maintaining a caring and stimulating environment.
  • Support individuals in their daily health and personal care, helping them engage in recreational, social, and independent living activities.
  • Accompany individuals to appointments and provide emotional and practical support when needed.
  • Maintain strong communication with individuals, their families, and other health and social care professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with FiND's policies, health and safety standards, GDPR, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, observe any changes in individuals' conditions, and report concerns promptly to leadership.
  • Participate in supervisions, appraisals, and training to continually improve your skills and the quality of care provided.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in supporting individuals with autism and/or learning disabilities.
  • A good understanding of the health and social care sector, including the ability to provide both personal and domestic care.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with attention to detail in record-keeping.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A good standard of education, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, and understanding GDPR requirements.
  • Access to and use of a vehicle for work purposes (if required).
  • A proactive, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to care.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and integrity.

Desirable Criteria:

  • NVQ Level 2 or higher in health and social care.
  • First Aid Certification and epilepsy awareness.
  • Experience with additional communication skills (e.g., MAKATON, PECs, Sign Language).
  • MIDAS or minibus driver accreditation.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends for training purposes.
