A well respected housing provider based in the Hertfordshire area are looking to recruit a Young People's Project Worker to join their friendly team working with homeless young people. This is a temporary contract for around three months and you will be required to work up to 21.5 hours per week.

Hours: 21.5 hours per week including weekend work
Duration: Temporary – Three months ongoing
Location: South Oxhey, Hertfordshire
Shifts:
Monday: 12:30pm - 6:00pm
Thursday: 3:00pm - 8:00pm
Friday: 1:00pm - 6:00pm
Saturday: 12:00pm - 5:00pm

Pay: £15.93 per hour via an Umbrella Company PAYE

Main duties of the role:

  • Working with a caseload of young people in their own accommodation ages 16-25
  • Dealing with young people suffering from mental health issues and drug and alcohol misuse
  • Carrying out support plans and risk assessments
  • Teaching life skills and preparing the young people to live independently in the community
  • Supporting clients with budgeting and applying for housing benefits to reduce rent arrears
  • Actively encouraging and facilitating activities to engage and involve the young people
  • Promoting independence at all times
  • Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
  • Updating notes and records ensuring they are concise and accurate

Essential requirements:

  • An enhanced DBS from within the last three years or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience working with vulnerable young people in a supported living environment
  • Due to the location of the project, a car is useful but not essential
