Payroll Lead -FTC 12 months

The role is working for a growing business within the Research sector, reporting into Finance. The position is initially a contract role for up to 12 months. It does not have any direct reports and is processing a payroll of around 400 on a monthly basis.

Main duties

  • Collaborate and partner with Accounting, Legal, HR and outsourced payroll provider to foresee, implement, and address equity compensation initiatives and matters and to ensure timely and accurate payroll across all group companies.
  • Manage the relationship and work closely with outside service providers, such as the equity management vendor and outsourced payroll teams.
  • Manage the flow of data for the year end processes related to P11d process in the UK and W-2 process in the US.
  • Prepare reports and reconciliations to assist in the review of equity data.
  • Implement best practices and effective SOX controls and assist with automation of routine work streams and manual processes to enable efficient, accurate and timely processing of equity data.
  • Maintain supporting documents for internal/external SOX auditors and respond accurately, thoroughly, and timely to requests for data.
  • Ensure that all forms of equity compensation are administered in accordance with the terms and conditions of the plan(s) under which they are granted.
  • Manage the calendar of various equity and payroll administration related activities.
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc requests as requested.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, such as IRS and HMRC, as required.
  • Administer all aspects of the equity program.
  • Maintain database integrity and ensure accuracy of the data in the Global Shares, CIPHR and systems and any future platforms.

We seek candidates with the following experience and qualifications;

  • Current and confident experience of running payrolls for UK and overseas
  • Experience of SOX compliance but not essential.
  • Experience with variable pay, Benefit in Kind Tax reporting (e.g. p11D UK)
  • Reporting skills with payroll systems,
  • Pension contributions and reports
