**Senior Front Office eTrading Developer** (Contract)
Duration: 6 Months(Possibility for extension)
Location: London/Hybrid (3 days per week on site)
Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day Rate is available for suitable candidates
Role Profile
Our client, a leading investment bank, is seeking a talented and driven Front Office eTrading Developer to join their dynamic and innovative team. As a Front Office eTrading Developer, you will be responsible for building high-performance, low-latency trading components and working closely with technology partners to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build high-performance, low-latency trading components using Java, including multi-threading, low latency, and high performance.
- Utilise your experience with Linux, UNIX, and Agile methodologies to develop robust systems with an emphasis on performance, supportability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders including developers, support, and front office to ensure effective coordination and delivery of tasks.
- Employ excellent development practises by incorporating pairing, code reviews, unit testing, and regression testing.
- Possess strong troubleshooting and debugging skills on Linux/Windows using gdb and other profiling tools.
Primary Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven ability to work independently and exhibit strong troubleshooting skills.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively document and communicate issues.
- Ability to effectively organise and prioritise multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
- Solid development experience in complex application development using Java, with a background in multi-threaded implementation and low-latency messaging.
- Demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to coordinate tasks with different stakeholder groups, showing proactiveness and high motivation.
Highly Desirable Skills:
- Experience working in Fixed Income eTrading technology.
- In-depth knowledge of agile development practises, with a focus on writing thorough and testable code.
- Familiarity with message-oriented middleware such as 29 West/Solace/AMPS/RV.
