Assistant Footwear Product Developer

A large fashion company are looking for a Assistant Footwear Product Designer to join their London team to work on a very well known fashion brand, based in the West End. This role is fully office based and would be ideal for a candidate previous experience in a similar junior role across both men's and womenswear.

Experience/skills required:

  • Strong detail orientation with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and ability to deal with multiple data – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding communication and follow-up skills.
  • Eagerness and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, driven by teamwork and collaborative innovation.
  • Self-starter and solution-oriented and able to manage own workload.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Senior Footwear Product Developer.
  • Support the Design Team to develop styles across seasonal collections, collaboration and special make-ups ("SMU").
  • Maintain and update product critical path from proto sample through to salesman samples/Gold Seal and Preproduction ensuring key timelines are adhered to.
  • Creation and maintenance of all seasonal, SMU, and collaboration product specifications – ensuring these are up to date and correct prior to production commencement.
  • Manage and organise footwear samples – maintain a clear sample system in the office and Southend Location.
  • Managing all post/sampling / trims / colour development and deliveries from suppliers and maintaining an organised filing system for all teams to access.
  • Day to day liaison with factories - communicate with the suppliers and factories and analysing processes and deliveries – summarising critical path movements and outstanding tasks to all teams on a weekly basis.
  • Working with the design team to engineer products to meet margin targets considering construction and sourcing.
  • Support the design team in developing products for testing to relevant standards, using technical knowledge, and negotiating any aesthetic changes to protect the design vision.
  • Identify and communicate to cross-functional partners to mitigate any risks/challenges identified at all stages.
  • Liaise with marketing/ sales/ customer service/ operation teams for product queries.
