Senior Communications Officer – Temp until October 2024 - £35.77 per hour - London Hybrid
Intergovernmental body is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Officer to provide support to their Communications Division at their central London headquarters.
This is a temporary position to start ASAP until October 2024 initially and will pay £35.77 per hour PAYE.
The role is hybrid and will involve working at their central London offices 2-3 days per week.
The Senior Communications Officer will support the implementation of the organisations communications strategy. They will develop and execute communications proposals in support of the organisations Strategic Plan. This role includes supporting and overseeing stakeholders and colleagues in achieving their communications objectives, in line with the organisations objectives, as well as playing a role in the development of high-quality and compelling audio-visual content.
The ideal Senior Communications Officer will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in communications, journalism, media studies, international affairs or any other appropriate field.
- Experience as a reporter or correspondent in a media organisation, and/or in an external communications role.
- Experience in covering political, parliamentary, social or economic issues; appreciation and knowledge of international and or diplomatic issues; experience as a press officer or involvement in news management; event management.
- Demonstrable experience in the production and on-air reporting would be an advantage.
- Experience of working in the Caribbean, Pacific and South Asian context would be an advantage.
