Our client is looking for a Trainee Underwriting Assistant to join their Private Client team in their Surrey Office. The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the underwriters.
Main Duties:
- Support underwriters with administrative tasks and manage phone queries on behalf of the team
- Manage data input for new business and renewal cases on rate engines and insurer systems
- Assist brokers with queries regarding new business and renewals
- Provide background information to inform underwriters' decisions on pre-renewal and new business
- Administer renewals and mid-term adjustments within underwriting guidelines and binding authorities
- Assist in the production of monthly MI for presentation to senior managers
- Attend meetings with brokers and insurers when required
- Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and act in the best interests of clients
Essential Skills Required:
- 2024 Graduate or School Leaver
- Basic understanding of the London insurance market / High-Net-Worth Household Insurance
- Strong administrative and IT skills (Microsoft Suite)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-organised with attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
- Confident phone manner and ability to respond to broker queries
- A basic understanding of underwriting principles

- Willingness to complete as part of the role)
- Ability to work under pressure and within a fast-paced environment
