Private Client Lawyer

JP Recruitment are pleased to be working with a well-known Law Firm, based in Cambridgeshire to recruit a Private Client Lawer on a permanent basis. The Private Client team handles a wide spectrum of areas including; Will Writing, Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax Planning, Probates and Estate Administration. This role would suit a newly qualified lawyer with at least 3 years post qualification experience.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Managing a varied caseload including: Writing and Reviewing Wills, Declarations of Trust, Deeds of Variation and Probate and Estate Administration.
  • Carrying out your legal work to the highest professional standards and adhering to all compliance related policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that you maintain sufficient levels of ongoing CPD and identify and address any training needs.
  • Achieving financial targets for time recording and billing, alongside managing your financial ledgers appropriately including credit control where necessary.
  • Performing as a capable and reliable individual fee earner as well as being able to work well within the wider Team.
  • Participating in the growth and development of the Team and the Firm in general by attending networking events and fostering solid links with key contacts and referrers whilst building your own professional profile.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a Chartered Legal Executive or Qualified Solicitor, with strong technical legal skills and knowledge of Wills, Trusts and Probate Law.
  • Good interpersonal skills and be a tenacious and passionate individual, committed to delivering excellent service.
  • Have keenness to keep abreast of changes from time to time in law, practice and procedures together with a willingness to attend training seminars.
  • Be able to communication in English, both verbally and in writing with clients and solicitors for opposing parties.

The salary on offer for this role is dependant on experience.
