Are you passionate about helping young people thrive? We are looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in the beautiful setting of Cranborne, Dorset.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Cranborne, Dorset
Pay: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour
Annual Salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 (Term-Time Only)
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, Term-Time Only

About the Role:
In this role, you'll support students aged 11-16 with special educational needs, including Autism. Working closely with our experienced teaching staff, you'll assist students both in the classroom and in hands-on outdoor activities like Bushcraft and life skills. Your support will play a vital role in their academic and personal growth.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the teaching team in providing personalized support
  • Ensure the well-being and safety of students at all times
  • Help students achieve their targets as outlined in their Education and Healthcare Plans (EHCPs)
  • Use positive behaviour strategies tailored to individual students
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety matters
  • Encourage positive social interactions and teamwork

Who We're Looking For:
We welcome applicants with or without experience. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong desire to work with young people and build trust with them
  • The ability to manage various behaviours, including those that challenge
  • A positive and creative approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) - desirable but not required
