My client are looking for a dedicated Contracts Officer to lead the management of allocated contracts within the Adult Education Budget (AEB) team. This role involves developing and maintaining effective contract management tools, ensuring the accuracy of reports, and managing a team of Contract Officers. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex contracts, subcontractors, and monitoring project budgets, with a strong understanding of government funding and various funding streams.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead on the contract management of multiple varied and complex AEB contracts, ensuring compliance, performance, and financial targets are met.
  • Develop and maintain contract management processes and tools to monitor finance, performance, subcontractors, and associated risks.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant contract claims, maintaining a full auditable evidence trail.
  • Develop and implement monitoring reports, delivery paperwork, databases, and CRM tools for efficient contract monitoring.
  • Liaise with delivery partners and subcontractors for contract reviews and address underperformance or non-compliance.
  • Produce detailed reports on spend, outputs, outcomes, finance, and risks for various stakeholders.
  • Monitor contracts to ensure up-to-date data is available and manage team procedures to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Lead by example on health & safety matters, ensuring compliance with policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent relevant education/experience.
  • Practical experience in a similar role managing complex contracts.
  • Knowledge of contract and project management methodologies and good practice.
  • In-depth experience with government funding and various funding streams.
  • Proficiency in using databases and CRM tools for contract management.
  • Ability to prioritise, plan, and organise workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in managing people and building relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide contractual support and advice on complex issues.
