Our client is an International logistics service provider; due to increased demand they are currently looking for a Junior Freight Forwarder, to learn all forwarding activities relating to sea-freight imports and trailer shipments. This is a full-time, permanent position joining their team in Ongar .
As Junior Freight Forwarder, you'll l iais e with overseas agents / customers / hauliers handling all aspects of deep-sea import movements from start to finish on a day-to-day basis.
Junior Freight Forwarder duties include:
- Creating shipping documentation
- Liaising with overseas agents / customers / hauliers handling all aspects of deep-sea import movements from start to finish
- Checking manifests once received
- Planning and arranging deliveries
- Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents
- Planning loads and sending load lists to agents
- Advising customers of arrival of cargo into the UK
- Creating files both manually and on the computer system
- Receiving and checking relevant import documentation and passing on to shipping lines
Full training will be given; you just need to be passionate about learning! You'll gain valuable experience and transferable skills within the freight forwarding industry, which is in very high demand, so it's a great sector to get into.
You'll need to be organised by nature and thrive in a fast paced and dynamic atmosphere. Being computer literate, having excellent attention to detail skills, as well as being good with numbers and a confident communicator with excellent customer services skills is vital.
We're keen to speak to people with excellent attention to detail, and admin /customer service skills, as well as those who already have some experience from a freight forwarding background.
