I am currently partnering with an East Midlands based professional services business, to recruit for a HR Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis.
The organisation has offices based in Chesterfield, Mansfield, Nottingham & Derby, overseeing a headcount of 175. This is a full time, permanent position.
Based predominantly at the Chesterfield site. With travel to the other offices (1-2 days per week), travel expensed.
This full-time, generalist role will support a fast-moving business with further expansion planned. Reporting to and working alongside the Chief Operations Officer, the role will involve the day-to-day management and longer-term development of the HR support service.
A day in the life of a HR Advisor:
- Supporting recruitment activity, including advertising through various job boards, candidate sifting, arranging interviews, liaising with agencies. Developing a positive candidate experience.
- Delivering new starter inductions.
- Managing and reporting absence. Ensuring adherence to policy and supporting managers with long-term absences/capability cases. Working with external Occupational Health consultants where relevant.
- Coaching and guiding managers on employee relations activities throughout the employee life cycle.
- Conducting exit interviews.
- Maintaining policy documents.
- Support the performance management processes.
- Lead on recruitment activity, covering internal and external advertising, managing agency partners and attending interviews/assessments.
- Support the training strategy by researching and arranging appropriate courses, sometimes facilitating training.
- Advise on employment law and best practice.
- Manage ER issues including discipline, grievance and redundancy.
- Produce monthly MI and statistics reports that effectively measure the HR inputs, costs and successes.
You will need to bring:
- 3+ years HR experience, ideally with exposure to recruitment
- Current knowledge of employment law and applications
- Proven ability to manage a full range of generalist HR processes
- Ability to influence/coach line managers
- Strong communications skills (written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills
- Car owner/driver – essential as the role involves frequent travel to all four office locations across the East Midlands
- IT skills and experience using MS packages
