Job Title: Credit Controller
Salary: £27,500
Duration: Full Time Permanent Position
Location: Swindon
The role is responsible for supporting the head office (revenue team). This is a key role in the business with a responsibility to reduce the current debt and to build effective relationships both internally and with clients.
Main Responsibilities:
- Local Authority Reconciliations (completed weekly/monthly)
- Support Admission/Discharge Processes (Including opening and closing billing line and statement of accounts for admissions and discharges).
- Amendment to resident contract/fee terms on an ad-hoc basis from the Local Authority.
- Support the Income Reconciliation within the set month end timetable
- Issuing Reminders/Action notices to outstanding balances due from debtors in line with the credit control policy and procedures.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate prompt payment and keep regular contact regarding overdue payments.
- Use of Sage 200 to post customer receipts and ensure accounts are fully reconciled daily. This will include reconciling the bank statements.
- Raising unpaid debtors to the Revenue & Credit Control Manager for resolution. Collaborate with internal Sales department, to resolve payment disputes and improve cash flow.
- Responsibility and overall management of a shared inbox dealing with customer queries, invoice and statement requests. Ensuring all responses are sent in a timely and professional manner.
- Review accounts for potential bad debt and report accordingly to the Financial Controller.
- Ad-Hoc Duties to support revenue and credit control processes. This will cover areas such as any historical debtors with strong analytical skills to review Local Authority Reconciliations.
- Support the implementations of new policies and systems in the homes from time to time as required.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 or 3-years credit control experience or accounts receivable, debt management or sales ledger experience. A good level of Microsoft Excel skills and communication skills. Also, the ability to reconcile complex accounts, understanding variance analysis and have excellent attention to detail.
