- Hourly Salary: £13.84
- Hours: 39 hours per week (8am - 5pm, and 8am - 4pm one day a week)
We are seeking a temporary Driver/Porter to join a Portering Services Department for a 2 month period approx. This role is essential in supporting patients with their travel commitments, enabling them to maintain as normal a life as possible. The successful candidate will be part of a small, dynamic team and must have a D1 Driving Licence.
Day to Day of the role:
- Transporting patients for various commitments including trips home, medical appointments, and recreational outings.
- Providing onsite portering services to all wards and departments, including the movement of objects and occasionally coordinating the relocation of whole wards.
- Contributing positively to the work of the portering team and working independently when required.
- Managing waste removal services for all wards and departments, ensuring correct segregation and storage according to relevant waste streams.
- Maintaining a professional demeanor towards all service users and management, upholding confidentiality and hospital policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Full & clean driving licence with D1 category.
- Enhanced clear DBS
- Professional conduct and understanding of confidentiality in line with data protection and hospital policies.
- Reliable, willing, and conscientious with the ability to work flexibly, both individually and as part of a team.
- Experience in or understanding of excellent customer service, with good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good timekeeping and punctuality.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.
- Reflective and self-critical with the ability to take constructive criticism positively.
