Reed Education are working with a nursery who are looking for a passionate Early Years Practitioner with a Level 3 qualification in childcare and education. The successful candidate will be a role model for children, ensuring their safety and well-being, and will follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory guidelines and the nursery's philosophy.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Implement the EYFS curriculum, providing high-quality learning environments and experiences.
  • Plan and carry out activities based on children's interests and developmental needs, recording progress.
  • Undertake observation and assessment of children, tracking their progress and supporting individual needs.
  • Maintain high-quality interaction with children, promoting positive behaviour and inclusion.
  • Develop professional relationships with parents and work with external agencies to support children's needs.
  • Fulfil the Key Person role, building strong relationships with a group of children and ensuring effective implementation of the key person system.
  • Share responsibility for health and safety, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Administer medication in line with policies and procedures and carry out risk assessments.
  • Keep up to date with paperwork and manage time efficiently to support nursery operations.
  • Work as a supervisor or mentor for new starters, such as apprentices, and contribute to team meetings and professional development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in childcare and education.
  • Level 2 English and maths qualifications (e.g., Functional Skills or GCSEs).
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Current safeguarding training.
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS Framework and child development.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a kind, caring nature.
  • Willingness to undertake further relevant training.
  • DBS check (required).

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children aged 0-5 years.
  • Experience planning for children's individual needs using the EYFS framework.
  • Full, clean UK driving license.
