I am delighted to be representing an agriculture and livestock company as they recruit for a new Buyer to join their team. They have offices in Perth and Bridge of Allan, and the role can be done from either location. They are ideally looking for someone with a background in farming or agriculture.
This role requires travel to farms and agricultural shows, so a full UK driver's licence is essential. This role will have a lot of on-site and travel requirements, so working from home will not always be possible.
Your new role:
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and farmers
- Ensuring stock is delivered on time
- Ensuring that animal welfare regulations and legislation are followed
- Negotiating costs and contracts
- Travelling to various farms and agricultural shows
- Following compliance requirements for all purchases
- Supporting with general office duties as required
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with farming or agriculture and a good working knowledge of the sector
- Previous buying experience in a similar field
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Full, clean driver's licence
- Time management and organisational skills
