My client is leading the way in horticulture and is proud to be one of the largest horticultural companies in the UK and Europe, currently recruiting within their Marketing team for a Senior Brand manager (SBM) A privately owned FMCG business & market leader, supplying a range of gardening, pet care and environmental products to the UK retail market, grocers and a vast network of independents and wholesalers.

Through the introduction of a talented new team, the business has seen strong growth over recent years and has plans to sustainably grow market share through continued customer & consumer acquisition, growing relationships in all sectors, brand development and the introduction of innovative value-added products to the range.

The Role:

Working for the Head of Marketing & Category, this role oversees multiple brands across multiple categories. It is fast paced and exciting with scope to own and manage multiple projects. A love of brands is essential, and this is a great opportunity to work across market leading, household brands in a fun, friendly and fast paced environment ensuring that we continue to deliver award-winning gardening products to our suppliers and customers. We are looking to recruit a highly creative, entrepreneurial Senior Brand Manager. Building brands is our core identity, adding value for our end customer and consumer, maximising our revenue, improving brand loyalty, and developing strategic Marketing and product plans is at the heart of the role. You will build strong relationships with our core customers, manage a complex range of skus and bring relevant new products to market in record time.

Main Duties

:

  • To drive our Brands, championing the product portfolio within the business and with our customers and consumers.
  • Develop Strategic Marketing plans across the brand portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Technical, Design and Commercial teams to identify areas of new product opportunity, quantifying the commercial benefits, developing product concepts, and gauging trade and consumer response that add commercial value to the business, ensuring Brand Proposition uniqueness.
  • Manage those products through the business to bring them to market on time and profitably.
  • Manage and deliver all consumer communication across the brands.
  • Oversee all relevant Customer marketing comms to improve Brand awareness.
  • Develop all marketing materials including packaging, literature, advertising, promotions, POS, sell in literature etc.
  • Monitor, review and report on all Sales & Marketing commercial activity and results to the sales team.
  • Conduct market research to determine market requirements for existing and future Customers.
  • Analysis of customer research, consumer insight, current market conditions and competitor information to inform the strategic direction of the brands.
  • Commissioning and managing areas of the company's stand at trade exhibitions including working with suppliers and the internal team allocated to help with the show's preparation and execution.

The Person:

  • Brand management or product marketing background (4yrs-5yrs) - FMCG product range preferred
  • Demonstrate an ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • A confident, personable relationship builder
  • Experience in marketing through all aspects including new product development, through the line media communication and setting the strategic direction for the brands.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and resilient, ambitious and adaptable.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret performance management data
  • Strong attention to detail with good excel skills.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Experience of working and delivering multiple projects
  • Evidence of growing brands, identifying growth opportunities and gaining alignment to execute against a strategic growth plan.
  • Proven skills in the following: brand marketing, market and competitive analysis, customer insights, marketing
