Enterprise Risk Manager

Enterprise Risk Manager:

Great opportunity for an Enterprise Risk Manager to join a leading global insurance firm and become a part of thieir Risk and Compliance team. This role will be responsible for developing and owning the firm's risk management framework, as well as providing continuous independent oversight and challenging risk management activities within the firm.

Responsibilites of the Enterprise Risk Manager:

  • Provide risk management insight, oversight, and challenge, working with the Risk and Compliance Business Partners and business units to deliver best practices in the management of financial, strategic, operational, legal and regulatory, health and safety, emerging, and reputational risks;
  • Assist in the development of the firm's Risk Management Framework and support the roll-out of standards to the wider business, ensuring that risk systems and processes are aligned with business needs, fit for purpose, and embedded in the business;
  • Investigate the root causes of risks, liaising with various teams, including the Business Partner team, to manage issues and risk events;
  • Responsible for the development, testing, and maintenance of all risk tools and processes within the Risk Management Framework, such as the risk management policy, risk appetite, risk acceptances, risk control self-assessment, risk event management, and training and guidance;
  • Develop risk reporting templates and dashboards and produce reporting for governance committees and forums;
  • Develop and perform risk analytics to provide additional insight into all types of risk affecting the firm, e.g., via stress and scenario testing and considering economic, social, data, and emerging risks;
  • Conduct risk identification interviews and facilitate risk assessment workshops, including at executive management levels.

The successful Enterprise Risk Manager:

  • Strong experience in risk (includes compliance, financial crime, operational risk, audit, legal, market risk, IT systems security, business process management)
  • Strong experience in Risk Control Self Assessment
  • Proven experience designing, developing, implementing and maintaining effective risk management programs, especially risk controls within a large private company
  • Knowledge of FCA regulatory environment
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to communicate across a varied business landscape at all levels of an organisation
  • Builds positive proactive business-partner relationships with internal groups
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information and communicate into easy to understand concepts for stakeholders.
  • Able to be pragmatic and deliver commercial and compliant solutions which are also in line with Consumer Duty requirements.
