Production Team Leader

Are you ready to take on a leadership role in the manufacturing industry? We are looking for a committed Team Leader to join our esteemed client. This position provides a chance to lead and develop a team while maintaining high standards in automotive production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of Production Operators and Technical staff.
  • Ensure the team adheres to Health & Safety and company policies.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing, Planning, and Quality teams.
  • Utilise the ERP system (Epicor) to manage production workflows.
  • Promote continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Represent your product area in production team meetings.

Key Activities:

  • Monitor team performance and identify training needs.
  • Conduct regular team briefings and individual meetings.
  • Manage payroll and confidential documents.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety investigations.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and quality compliance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Meet production plans and work with other departments.
  • Track performance metrics and ensure timely delivery.
  • Improve efficiency and manage resources effectively.
  • Address non-conformance issues to reduce costs.
  • Step in for the Production Manager when necessary.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Organised and proactive in task management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in manufacturing with a focus on quality.

Qualifications:

  • ILM Level 3 or equivalent (or willing to work towards).
  • Relevant HSE certification (COSHH/Risk Assessor).

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Continuous Improvement qualifications (Green/Yellow Belt).
  • Experience with Epicor ERP and PeopleHR.
  • Background in manufacturing or automotive manufacturing.
