Job Summary

They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Director to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales, business development, and strategic partnerships across multiple sectors. This role is pivotal in driving the business growth by securing high-value contracts, expanding our client base, and leading their sales processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across various sectors, including Retail, Hospitality, Transport, Rail, and Defence.
  • Lead the sales process from prospecting to closing, ensuring successful contract negotiations and client acquisitions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and clients.
  • Collaborate with the co-founder and bid management team to develop winning proposals and bids.
  • Oversee the development and execution of sales and marketing plans.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of winning high-value contracts and achieving sales targets across multiple sectors.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Microsoft Cloud technology stack (M365, D365, Azure, Power Platform etc) from a selling perspective.
  • Experience with different types of revenue models (fixed price, time & materials, SaaS subscriptions etc).
  • Extensive experience in business development, sales, and commercial management.
  • Strong network of industry contacts and ability to leverage relationships for business growth.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Security clearance or ability to obtain clearance is preferred but not essential.

Compensation

This is a commission-based role with the potential for equity options for the right candidate. The commission structure is performance-based, with varying percentages based on contract values:

  • Contracts up to £10k: 7% commission.
  • Contracts up to £50k: 13% commission.
  • Contracts up to £100k: 17% commission.
  • Contracts up to £150k: 25% commission.
  • Contracts up to £500k: open for negotiation.
