New Homes Development Manager

Our Client within the Public Sector in North London is currently recruiting for a New Homes Development Manager to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a full time, temporary position offering hybrid working and a day rate of £449 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (£342.88 PAYE p/d).

The purpose of the role is to manage a team of development, Principal Project Managers, Project Managers and Development Officers to deliver a portfolio of large-scale and complex new build projects with a value in the region of £750m.

Responsibilities:

  • To support the Heads of Service and the Director of Housing on service policy & strategy development.
  • To manage a client team delivering large and complex new build and regeneration projects through all RIBA stages ensuring full compliance with Council and related policies and procedures and effective management of the project team
  • To identify and appraise sites which may be suitable for development/ redevelopment or reconfiguration in liaison with other teams as appropriate to secure support for proposals.
  • To lead on the development of major estate regeneration and other large scale new build projects or those that considered to be commercially or politically sensitive.

Requirements:

  • A Project Management qualification or other relevant professional qualification in a housing related subject and demonstrable experience of working in a management capacity with housing development or a development related field or Able to demonstrate significant experience of working in a management capacity in a housing development or related field, including management of residential development/construction contracts.
  • Experience of managing substantial budgets, undertaking complex financial and development appraisals, and attracting external funding to support residential development and regeneration projects
  • Able to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of planning law, requirements and processes, including negotiation of Section 106 Agreements
  • Knowledge and/or expertise in affordable housing funding mechanisms, including GLA/HCA and local authority policy and investment frameworks
