NPI Process Engineer

NPI Engineer / New Product Introduction Engineer. Join a leading global automotive parts supplier, designer, and manufacturer and oversee the tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes for their new products. You will define and manage project tooling, equipment, and processes from the quotation phase through to project launch.

Extra details: OUTSIDE of IR35, Open to Limited Companies on an ongoing contract.

NPI Engineer responsibilities include:
- Develop Process Definition Sheets (PDS) for new products.
- Choose cost-effective processes.
- Determine cycle times and labour needs.
- Develop layout and facility requirements.
- Identify and estimate costs for necessary tooling, equipment, and facility investments.
- Assist the Project Manager with MAKE or BUY analysis.
- Conduct technology trials to support feasibility analysis.
- Complete Process Definition Validation activities (PPCR).
- Collaborate on the creation of Design FMEA.
- Oversee Process FMEA and process simulations (MTM, T-SIM, etc.).
- Manage technical specifications, machinery, and tooling.
- Handle Requests for Purchase (RFPs) for direct materials and investments.
- Create materials and process flowcharts/layouts.
- Plan process industrialization in the manufacturing facility.
- Maintain documentation to support processes according to procedures.
- Oversee process industrialization at production plants.
- Support the plant (Launch Manager) in pre-serial production.
- Lead Process Acceptance Gateway reviews (IPA's).

NPI Engineer Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Excellent supplier management skills.
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Experience with interior trim in the automotive industry.
- Familiarity with pressure lamination/vacuum lamination processes is desirable.
- Full UK driving license and happy to travel weekly to other sites (within an hour of Warwick.)
- Expertise in process selection, feasibility analysis, and definition for new products.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday permanent days.
