SALARY: £12.60 per hour / £24,240 pro rata(Actual Salary for Part-Time Hours £13,759 per annum) + Environmental Allowance

LOCATION: Fishponds, Bristol

JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 21 Hours per Week, between Monday to Sunday. Days to be discussed during interview

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Housekeeper / Cleaner / Cleaning Operativewho has the ability to identify and prioritise relevant tasks and duties with a confident, polite and courteous manner.

The organisation provides intensive, holistic residential support for women on post release licence, easing their path from prison back into their communities. The premises will also offer beds to a small number of women on temporary release from prison (ROTL), bail assessment and community orders.

Working as a Housekeeper / Cleaner / Cleaning Operativeyou will be responsible for providing specialist cleaning and maintenance related to cleaning to create a clean, healthy, and safe environment for residents, employees, and visitors.

As a Housekeeper / Cleaner / Cleaning Operativeyou will be required to undertake general services such as cleaning, keeping relevant supplies well stocked and deliver equipment to designated area -ensuring that a clean and hygienic environment is always maintained.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Housekeeper / Cleaner / Cleaning Operativeinclude:

  • Performance of specialist and general cleaning tasks to prescribed standards
  • Ensure that all health and safety risks are identified and report any accidents, trips, spills, hazards or near misses to the Manager
  • Have a full understanding of heavy-duty cleaning equipment and procedures, their use and maintenance
  • Ensure all equipment and machinery used are cleaned regularly and securely stored
  • Ensure that a clean and hygienic environment is always maintained for the Approved Premise employees, residents, and visitors in line with National Standards of Cleanliness
  • Collect and remove waste materials
  • Perform regular inventory checks in shared bathrooms and replacing consumables when required
  • Respond efficiently to urgent requests such as spillages, so that safety is restored in a timely manner
  • Supporting Chef's with maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and washing up
  • Cleaning and maintaining resident's rooms when required, making up beds and ensuring the rooms are to a high standard. Including packing up belongings when a resident unexpectedly leaves
  • Handling and cleaning the pet corner
  • Proper cleaning of upholstered furniture
  • Run errands to the supermarket, chemist and/or post office

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Confident, polite, and courteous communicator with the ability to build and maintain strong team relations
  • Ability to use own initiate to identify and prioritise tasks
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail within cleaning responsibilities
  • The ability to be flexible to meet the needs and demands of the role and Approved Premise
  • Able to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, colleagues, and external agencies
  • Ability to exercise authority and reinforce boundaries in an appropriate manner
  • Approachable with the ability to work on own initiative
  • A knowledge of H&S principles and practice
  • Experience of working within a residential care environment is desirable but not essential

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. All required checks will be undertaken as part of the pre employment process for any successful candidate.
