Information about the Role:

Working as a Care Team Leader at Alexander House your duties will include the following:

  • Your role will involve supervising and inspiring a team of dedicated Support Workers.
  • Administer medication, conduct assessments.
  • Ensure that care plans are kept up to date.
  • Respect the dignity and preferences of the people we support as well playing your own part in establishing a home where everyone feels safe and confident to live their best life.
  • Be involved and deliver daily activities to the people we support.
  • Manage and help organise the duty rota.
  • Carrying out duties as requested by senior management.

Information about the Service:

Alexander House is a wheelchair accessible home in the Savile Park area of Halifax. We are a homely and relaxed residential care home. We have 18 bedrooms, ten of which are ensuite bedrooms and have several accessible bathrooms throughout the home to support individuals with a physical disability. We work closely with our residents, the people who are important to them and our local care teams to ensure the people we support at Alexander House live well in our homely surroundings. We have experience of supporting people who live with the early symptoms of Dementia.

Necessary Experience or Qualifications to work as a Team Leader:

  • NVQ 3 or above in Health and Social Care.
  • Ideally 6 month or more experience as a Senior Healthcare Assistant / Senior Support Worker / Team Leader or Deputy Manager in Mental Health.
  • Passionate about making a difference in someone else's life.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able handle sometimes challenging situations.
  • Fun, energetic and able to build relationships with many different people.
