  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, shift patterns Mon-Fri 7am-8pm, Sat 7-5 & Sun 8-4, including bank holidays

Our client is looking for a temporary administrator to join their Cancer administration and bookings team to play a crucial role in managing and processing various medical and administrative appointments and inquiries, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for all stakeholders.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Process and manage requests for various medical appointments and inpatient stays, ensuring accurate bookings and capturing all necessary data on Meditech.
  • Liaise closely with clinical teams to ensure all special requirements are noted and communicated effectively.
  • Handle pre-authorisations, verifications, and payments for treatments, maintaining close communication with patients, insurers, and sponsors.
  • Provide timely confirmations and necessary information to patients via post and email.
  • Prioritise daily tasks and ongoing workloads to meet agreed timeframes.
  • Continuously review and suggest improvements to processes for recording patient data to enhance data quality.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with various internal departments to streamline patient and consultant pathways.
  • Cover for colleagues during absences and undertake additional duties as required to ensure smooth department operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • GSCE's or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds and healthcare professionals.
  • Experience in a busy administrative setting with a diverse workload.
  • Strong data collection and entry skills, with experience in cash/credit card handling.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of patient focus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an excellent telephone manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks independently.
