CAD Designer

We are looking for a CAD Designer who can design products and associated equipment for all manufacturing sites. Involves refining and upgrading existing products, through to designing new products.

This company is a well-established entity in the Industrial / Manufacturing sector based in Whaley Bridge. They are the UK's leading manufacturers of building solutions across a wide range of sectors from construction to oil and gas. We also specialise in conversions project for education, retail, renewables and many other sectors.

Description

As CAD Designer you will be tasked with the following;

  • To design products and associated equipment for the skips, stillages, enclosures, gate houses, containers, conversions and special projects.
  • Designs to meet current legislation, building regulations & legal compliance.
  • Review & refine existing products with the view of deskilling the job (simplify) & reducing cost without compromising quality or integrity of product.
  • Design new products that are optimum for the production process within the sites.
  • Use Solidworks to improve previous designs and produce virtual models / technical drawings of the products.

  • Knowledgeable in regards to when to adopt 3rd party testing, such as stress calculations, fire testing etc.
  • Altering and renewing drawings when required.

Profile

A successful CAD Designer should have:

  • Fully versed and experienced in the use of Solidworks® 3D drawing package.
  • Understand multi-material manufacturing technologies, processes and installation.
  • Excellent communication skills, great command of spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, but also good team working skills.
  • Highly organised person, with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask, juggle multiple needs from the business, prioritise and adapt as necessary.
  • High standard computer skills, including proficiency of Microsoft Office packages i.e. excel, outlook, word, power point and project.
  • Full Right to Work within the UK.
