Candidates who have previous experience procuring or purchasing castings at buyer or senior buyer level will be suitable for this position
Role's responsibilities of the Castings Buyer include:
- Identifying, selecting and managing an international supply chain within the casting's commodity group
- Analysing and negotiating proposed supplier prices
- Conducting supplier assessments and audits to maintain a reliable supply chain
- Reviewing and assessing MRP/ERP demands on a daily basis
- Ensuring timely and cost-effective material availability
- Placing or amending purchase orders in line with the authorisation procedures
- Preparing for and attending regular departmental meetings representing the purchase team
Person Specification of the Castings Buyer
- Previous experience in a procurement role purchasing castings or forges
- Knowledge using SAP or similar ERP and MRP systems
- Highly organised and able to handle multiple priorities
- Excellent communication, presentation and strong negotiation skills
- Driven and motivated individual with a desire to progress
- Clean and full driving license, own vehicle and valid passport
