Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with a range of special educational needs on a one-on-one or small group basis. You will play a key role in helping students overcome their learning barriers and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or group support to students with special educational needs (SEN), including those with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students.
- Develop and implement personalised learning plans to ensure progress in both academic and social development.
- Manage behaviour effectively, using appropriate strategies to promote positive outcomes.
- Monitor and track student progress, reporting regularly to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and participation.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure consistent support for the child's development.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is essential.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) are desirable.
- Excellent communication, patience, and empathy.
- Strong understanding of SEN support strategies, behaviour management, and child development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the wider school team and external professionals.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion and helping all students succeed.
