Site Engineer

Job Description:

As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a major water treatment scheme. This project involves the construction of a water treatment facility, along with significant pipelaying operations. You will be responsible for overseeing site activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, and driving the project forward to meet key milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Supervision: Manage and supervise day-to-day site operations, including pipelaying and water treatment facility construction.
  • Technical Oversight: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with design specifications, plans, and industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship, maintaining high standards across the site.
  • Health & Safety: Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate work schedules and resolve any on-site issues.
  • Surveying & Setting Out: Conduct site surveys, setting out, and leveling to ensure accurate implementation of design plans.
  • Reporting: Maintain detailed site records, including progress reports, daily logs, and material usage.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Site Engineer on water treatment or infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on pipelaying.
  • Skills: Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software (e.g., AutoCAD, GPS, Total Station).
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of water treatment processes, pipelaying techniques, and civil engineering principles.
  • Certifications: CSCS card, SMSTS or SSSTS, and First Aid certification.
  • Attributes: Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
  • Relevant experience: Many years of experience in the water industry with pipelaying experience
