2nd Line Support Analyst MSP

Job Description

We are working with a client in search for a 2nd Line Support Engineer in Colchester. The role is full-time with 5 days a week on site with the ability to respond to necessary fieldwork needing to be completed. The client is looking for an appropriately experienced individual with great problem-solving skills to take on this role with potential for progression within the company in the future.

They will need to be able to:

  • Provide support to clients with technical issues that have been escalated from the 1st line support team whilst simultaneously ensuring customer retention and service levels are maintained.
  • Perform necessary, routine maintenance and updates to applications, operating systems and anti-virus software.
  • Confirm factors such as IT Policies, procedures and security standards are being considered and abided by.
  • Establishing and maintaining technical documentation that can range from technical diagrams to knowledge articles.
  • Necessary to attend customer sites to complete jobs around various IT installations and maintenance checks.
  • The ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues with customer workstations, laptops and mobile devices - providing guidance and expertise.

Skills Desired:

  • Extensive knowledge around desktop and laptop hardware, operating systems (Windows, Mac OS, Linux) and software applications.
  • Knowledge with virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V.
  • Excellent knowledge of networking concepts such as: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and resolving issues linked to Microsoft 365.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary with the emphasis on an ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and user account management.
  • Familiarity with simple server administration demands such as user management, file shares and security.
