Are you a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children with autism?

Our client in Preston is seeking a caring and proactive 1:1 Support Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil on the autistic spectrum. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the life of a child and contribute to a supportive and inclusive school community.

About the Role:

  • You will provide 1:1 support to a pupil with autism, working closely with the class teacher and other professionals.
  • You will implement individualised support plans designed to meet the pupil's specific needs and encourage their progress.
  • You will utilize your knowledge of positive strategies and techniques for supporting autistic students to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • You will foster a strong and trusting relationship with the pupil, promoting their emotional well-being and academic success.
  • You will work proactively and independently, taking initiative to anticipate needs and provide effective support.
  • You will be a strong communicator, collaborating closely with the class teacher, other staff, and parents to ensure the pupil's needs are being met.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience of working with children with autism
  • Strong understanding of positive strategies and techniques for supporting autistic pupils
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work proactively and independently
  • A genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children

Details:

  • Full-time position
  • Working hours: 8:45 am - 3:15 pm, Monday to Friday
