SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a psychology graduate who is motivated to pursue a career in educational or clinical psychology and wants to gain experience of supporting SEN?

  • ** 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
  • ** ‘Good' primary school with a 20-place SEN unit.

Requirements:

  • At least a 2:2 bachelor's degree in psychology, or a related field.
  • A passion for the education and development of SEN pupils.
  • Commitment to following strict safeguarding policies.
  • Previous experience of working with pupils, or in a school setting, is beneficial but not mandatory.

The Role

  • Assisting teaching staff in adapting lesson plans and learning materials to accommodate the needs of pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Creating personalised support strategies to improve the achievement levels of SEN pupils.
  • Partaking in training courses and CPD opportunities to ensure the pupils are supported as effectively as possible.
  • Supporting SEN pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis across the curriculum.
