EC&I Technician

Your new company
Your new company is a leading chemical manufacturing company based in Cheshire. They are an upper tier COMAH site and are looking for an EC&I technician to join the growing team.
Your new role
You will be responsible for maintenance compliance activities, as well as supporting the Technical department with the calibration and trip testing program. This role is weekday based, with some flexible hour requirements including occasional weekend day shifts to support the shift based EC&I team needs.
Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake all assigned maintenance routines and inspections necessary to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and site maintenance plans.
  • Develop appropriate risk assessments and method statements for own work undertaken
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on LV electrical systems as required. Support the EC&I Engineer with the site electrical systems maintenance and testing program
  • Provide a high level of support on process plant instrumentation - troubleshooting, calibration & trip testing
  • Support the EC&I Engineer and EC&I planner for all aspects of work control and planning
  • Ensures operational procedures are followed to comply with all relevant SHE standards (COMAH, DSEAR, IEC61511, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, etc.)
  • Recognise areas for improvement and play an active role in implementation
  • Provide commissioning support to project engineers for new installations on site

What you'll need to succeed

  • Trade apprenticeship supported by HNC electrical / EC&I or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years working in a process plant environment, ideally on an upper tier COMAH site
  • Knowledge of engineering procedures
  • Knowledge of HV/LV systems and DCS / IACS. Full knowledge of workplace safety legislation and standards e.g ATEX, PUWER, Functional Safety. COMPEX trained
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS 7671 trained
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience of working with SAP S4/Hanna for Asset Management an advantage
