We are specifically working with a secondary school in Wigan who are looking to secure the services of an outstanding Teaching Assistant, for long-term position to join their school/SEN teams.
This particular role is to support the needs of students within the general mainstream school setting, OR with SEN, who may display low-level challenging behaviours and can become disengaged from learning quite quickly. You will have to provide 1:1 support in and outside of the classroom and you must be comfortable with managing behaviour, have knowledge of the curriculum and EBD/SEMH.
To be successful in this role, it is essential you are calm, resilient, and overall, have a good sense of humour to build positive relationships that contribute to a conducive learning environment.

- Hours - 8:30 am - 3.30pm
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree educated with a good classification
- Teaching assistant qualification
- SEN specialism qualifications
- Previous experience working of working with young people (which we can reference)
- Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)
- Up to date Prevent training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references
